Tolerations – Removing Energy Drains
You cannot focus on your goals if you don’t have the energy to do so. In day to day life, there are so many things that can zap you of your energy. We call those energy drains, or tolerations.
Here, you’ll learn another approach to ramping up your energy supply: Toleration removal.
Remember, change requires energy.
Throughout this process, I’d like you to pay attention to your energy zappers. I’ll coach you to remove at least ONE energy zapper (in the coaching world, we call it a TOLERATION) each week in addition to working on your personal goals. To prepare, I’d like you to start your list of tolerations so you have a lot to choose from each week! Yes, you may add to the list as we move forward.
You may find some of the items on your toleration list will match some of the goals you’ve written down. THAT’S OK! Don’t worry about it at all. Write down any and all tolerations you can think of right now. Keep a running list. Yes, another list!
TODAY or TOMORROW, please list out at least 10-25 energy drains or tolerations in your journal. By tolerating, or putting up with something that does not work for you, you are depleting your energy and lessening your joy factor. An amazing life does not have many tolerations; while a draining life is full of them.
SAMPLE TOLERATION CATEGORIES
Home environment
Office environment
Technical Equipment – computers, kitchen aids, car
Problems hanging over your head – tax, accounting, health
People, relationships
Personal Products
Food, nutrition
Money – bills
Beauty, body, self care
Work
Personal characteristics – low confidence, shy, etc.
Most of our tolerations can be found in our home environments, such as clutter, a spot on the rug, a lamp that does not work or an uncomfortable bed. I want you to notice everything that bugs you and write it down. Be specific.
Starting next week, I’ll ask you to ‘report in’ via your intention form. One of the questions I’ll ask each week is about your toleration removal.
Get ready by making your list NOW.
One of the easiest ways to create your list now is to simply stand in each room of your home and visually scan the room. Then, write down everything that bugs you.
Here are a couple of tolerations and solutions:
~ Uncomfortable bed resulting is poor sleep – put comfy sheets on the bed, add a feather topper or buy a new mattress!
~ Clothes never fit right – Find a good tailor and get them altered.
See how easy this is?
The trick here is to take each toleration very seriously. Give it some attention and come up with a solution and I will teach you how to energize your life by getting rid of all of the things that drag you down or irritate you. Life will FLOW much, much better for you. I promise.
